On safari in South Africa, my zoom lens captured this giraffe close-up. Look at those long eyelashes.

That’s a cool photo. Can’t wait to have a chance to go back to Africa. I did a safari in Kenya several years ago; best vacation ever.

It almost looks fake with the great separation from the background and excellent focus! Great job!

GREAT photo, Donna. I think you must have been using more than a zoom, however. Didn’t you have a stepladder?

Awesome photo!!!!

If you can’t travel to Africa but hope to get up close to a giraffe, check out the giraffe feeding deck at Dickerson Park Zoo in Springfield, Missouri. It’s not the same as an African safari, but it’s pretty cool.

Be careful, though. Stretch – the big daddy – will slime you with his lo-o-ong tongue if you’re not careful!

More info at http://www.DickersonParkZoo.org or http://www.ILoveSpringfieldMo.com.

Coming from you, Peter, I consider that high praise. Thanks!
