Boomer photographers, have you ever taken a photo only to find a surprise once you downloaded it to your computer? On a self-guided walk in Akaka Falls State Park, located on Big Island’s Hamakua Coast, Alan and I discovered a thick stand of ginger. We had as much fun photographing the flowers as we did trying to capture the water’s power at Akaka Falls—considered one of Hawaii’s most famous waterfalls. I didn’t notice the gecko until I began to process the photos. What a fun Big Island surprise!
Have your travel photographs ever surprised you? Post a comment to share what you found. Alan and I think surprises are the best part of our boomer travels.
