A smoking volcano dominates the scenery in this photo taken on the Kamatchka Peninsula in eastern Siberia. Alan and I were on a cruise excursion with Regent Seven Sea Cruises that traveled by army truck to Nalychevo Nature Park. It’ a baby boomer adventure worth repeating some day.

I had no idea what to expect on a visit to Sibera. Alan and I were so surprised at the natural setting. We’d love to go back.
