On a cruise excursion to Splendid Herdal Mountain Farm near Geiranger, Norway Alan and I discovered  a thatched roof cottage and numerous waterfalls. Is this how you picture Norway? It’s definitely the scene baby boomers will find on a cruise through the Norwegian fjords. And you should have tasted the goat cheese – Yum! Have you sailed on a cruise in Norway? What was your favorite boomer memory? Post a comment to tell us. Since it rained on our Regent Seven Seas Voyager cruise, Alan and I have vowed to return one day, hopefully in better weather.

New here? We hope you’ll come again. To keep up with us, subscribe to our posts, sign up for our monthly newsletter or keep up with baby boomer travel news and deals at the My Itchy Travel Feet page on Facebook.

This IS Norway. I love the idea of turf roofs – they are supposedly superb insulators. I’d love to sleep a night in such a place.

It’s be interesting to stay in a turf roof cabin for a night or two. Although inside, the cabins were very dark.

I haven’t been to Norway but I would love to go at some point.

I’d like to go back, Dave. During our trip we had lots of rain and mist. I want to see Norway in the sunshine.
