Saturday’s scene: Going UnderWater in Alaska

For all of our baby boomer readers who’ve wondered, “Where is Alan?” He’s back! After several months of settling into his Montana office (and covering for me so that I could attend to blogging and writing duties during our move) Alan is ready to get back to work at My Itchy Travel Feet. Today, he looked through his photo collection to find this unexpected scene in Alaska.

When our American Safari Cruise ship docked in Ketchikan, we took a ride out to Mountain Point for an introduction to cold water adventure with Snorkel Alaska. Although we didn’t have time to try the full experience, Alan did have a chance to catch some neat underwater photos. Who knew the starfish were so colorful in cold waters? Have you snorkeled in Alaska? Post a comment to share your experience. We’d definitely give this a try the next time our ship sails into Ketchikan. It sure beats wandering around the jewelry stores on the waterfront. Well, on second thought…

Disclosure: American Safari and InnerSea Discover Cruises provided this travel experience.

New here? We hope you’ll come again. To keep up with us, subscribe to our posts, sign up for our monthly newsletter or keep up with baby boomer travel news and deals at the My Itchy Travel Feet page on Facebook.

I know, it’s not the usual snorkeling scenario.

We couldn’t believe at how colorful the starfish were.
