Saturday’s scene: Mesa Arch Sunrise Take Two

If you’re planning a boomer adventure at Canyonlands National Park near Moab, Utah, experiencing the sunrise at Mesa Arch is a must, even if you’re not a baby boomer photographer. Alan captured this photo during a photography workshop with Exposure36 Photography. We drove to the Island in the Sky section of Canyonlands for a short walk in the semi-darkness (it’s a .5 mile round-trip easy hike) to Mesa Arch, which sits at the edge of a cliff.

I thought it would be fun to publish a he said — she said Saturday’s scene, like I did with Cape Kiwanda Sunset. As you can see Alan’s version is bold and brash. Talk about a vivid wake up call. I, however, offer a softer version of Sunrise at Mesa Arch. What do you think of our dueling photos?

Sorry, Alan, I like Donna’s better. Although yours surely does wake up the senses.

Glad you noticed, Vera. Although I do miss the versatility for monitoring comments that comes with DISQUS. Thanks for looking at both photos. Alan doesn’t mind if you like mine best :-) .

This is tough because I like them both for different reasons–basically the ones you stated. I can’t make a choice!

Tough call, but I think I like the vivid colors in Alan’s shot best.

Sarah, Utah is an amazing and under appreciated state when it comes to tourism. Good for us – less crowds.

Great colours in Alan’s photo, but I prefer Donna’s.

NB commentluv is no longer working. Clashing with another plugin such as an image compression utlity?

Hmm, comment luv was working yesterday. Will Check on this today. I don’t use an image compression plugin, although I do use one that deletes old versions of posts, or it could be Hypercache plugin. Thanks for alerting me.
