We should have packed ThermaCare HeatWraps

Has back pain kept you from enjoying a boomer travel experience? That’s what happened to Alan when we took our whirlwind tour of the Western National Parks. A couple of days before the road trip, he played a vigorous game of handball that resulted in an aching back. By the time we reached Glacier National Park, Alan was grimacing with every step. If only we had known about ThermaCare HeatWraps.

Last month, I told you that I’d be trying  a sample of the HeatWraps for myself. They’ve certainly come in handy since I began training for our Road Scholar hiking tour in Glacier National Park that’s coming up in September. Who knew that hiking up and down hills would make my back so sore?

What I like about ThermaCare Heat Wraps:

  • Unlike using an electrical heating pad, I can strap on the HeatWrap and go about my normal day. In fact, I think moving around while wearing it keeps my muscles from becoming even tighter.
  • The HeatWrap heats up quickly and stays warm for up to 8 hours, and the pain relieving effects last for 16 hours.
  • I can take the HeatWrap on and off during those 8 hours without the adhesive wearing out.
  • The next day after wearing the HeatWrap, I noticed that my back was much more relaxed and limber.

Words of caution from the ThermaCare box:

  • The package directions warn against putting the HeatWrap directly on your skin if you are over 55  because our boomer skin is more sensitive to the heat.
  • Don’t wear the HeatWrap during sleep.
  • If you’re a diabetic, have poor circulation, heart disease or rheumatoid arthritis, ask your doctor before using the HeatWrap.
  • Consult a doctor for a diagnosis of your back pain. HeatWraps relieve the symptoms of chronic backaches but are not the cure for a structural problem in your back.
