My Itchy Travel Feet | The Baby Boomer's Guide To Travel

Next Trip

Where am I going next?

Our feet are itching to go in 2011.But it’s going to be a little different travel year for us. Part of our time will be taken up with preparing our new Montana home. Yes, we’re going to be snowbirds with locations in Arizona and Montana. During the summer, Alan and Donna will be exploring the Bitterroot Valley and beyond. June sees us joining a Spokane Porsche Club for a sports car road trip to the Kootenay Rockies in British Columbia. In September, Donna’s traveling to Cairo with our sponsor AuthentiCity for an authentic look at the Egyptian ctiy. And, we’ll be ending the year on a holiday cruise with SilverSea as we sail through the Panama Canal (San Diego to Ft. Lauderdale) over Christmas and into the New Year.

2010 was a huge travel year for us:

We attended the Bluff Balloon Festival in Bluff, Utah; checked out Hidden Meadow Ranch in Greer, AZ; enjoyed a California sports car road trip from Paso Robles to Mendocino before ending in Sonoma; I attended TBEX10 in New York City; explored the Bitterroot Valley and Fishtail in Montana; reported from Cancun for Marriott’s blog paradise press trip, sailed Alaska’s Inside Passage with InnerSea Discoveries and American Safari cruises; explored Northern Italy on a boomer road trip before ending the year cruising from Rome to Ft. Lauderdale on the Seabourn Sojourn. Whoa, just reading that list makes me tired.

Did we have fun in 2009? Oh yea.

The Big Island of Hawaii and Molokai concentrating on off-the-beaten-path adventures and unique lodging; Eugene, Oregon with a Joe Cocker Concert thrown in for fun; Chicago where I attended the BlogHer conference and TBEX09; Cruising on Regent Seven Seas Mariner for 52 days from Vancouver to Singapore, with stops in Alaska, Siberia, Japan, South Korea, China, Hong Kong, Viet Nam, Cambodia and Thailand.

Travels kept us busy in 2008:

Mississippi, including driving the Natchez Trace and exploring Vicksburg; Memphis; Kiawah Island, SC; Greer, AZ; Dolores, CO; Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park and Hotchkiss, CO; Ouray, CO; Gainesville, FLA; Tampa, FLA; South Africa including safaris in Lion Sands and Madiwke Hills; Hermanus, South Africa; cruising from Cape Town to Rio aboard Regent Seven Seas Navigator, with stops in Namibia and St. Helena.

Thanks for visiting My Itchy Travel Feet. The next time we’re on the Big Island, I’d like to try your b&b. I’ve heard good things about it.
