On a visit to Cairo, the endless energy, sights and smells can become overwhelming. If you have time on your boomer travel itinerary, save a few hours for walking in Al-Azhar Park. On my visit to this green oasis in the middle of old Cairo, families picnicked on the grass, children scampered about and young couples shared romantic moments. Besides the excellent people watching, a walk around the perimeter of the park offers views of Cairo such as this one. I like the way Cairo’s skyline seems to be peeking above the park’s hedge.
