Here Come the Holidays

Christmas-decoration-SantaWhere has the year gone? How can it be the holiday season already? With so many baby boomer travel adventures in 2010, Alan and I can hardly believe it’s almost the end of the year. We still have photos to sort, videos to edit and many more stories to tell you about from our trips to Italy, Alaska, Montana, the Seabourn Sojourn cruise and, well, you get the picture.

Before I tell you what’s in store for our baby boomer readers in December, I’d like to share some exciting blog news. Successful Entrepreneur devised a ranking method to choose the top baby boomer blogs for 2010. Alan and I are thrilled that My Itchy Travel Feet is Number 1 on that list.

Now, on to what boomers will be reading here in December.

Just in case you’re considering a trip to Europe, Ilse Long of Prepared for Travel will be advising boomers on what to see in Ronda, Spain. And Shereen Rayle of Shereen Travels Cheap will give us budget ideas for visiting London, England.

Since I’m a big believer in celebrating the holidays, I thought it would be fun to check out the holiday celebrations being offered by the bed and breakfasts that My Itchy Travel Feet has reviewed this year. Perhaps you’d rather read about the three cameras in our travel pack or a review of the Seabourn Sojourn. Stay tuned.

And of course we’ll be throwing in a couple of reviews with contests. I’ll be telling you about our experience using the Xcom Global International Mi-Fi unit while traveling through Italy. I’ll also be reviewing my experience using Kodak Gallery online software to create a photo memory book of our Northern Italy road trip. Both reviews involve prize giveaways so don’t miss them.

Did you know that you can do your holiday shopping right here at My Itchy Travel Feet? See the Gear tab at the top of our site? That’s our Amazon store. You’ll find plenty of ideas for the traveler on your gift list. All of the items that we include are travel gear that we actually use. Not shopping for a traveler? Click on through to the Amazon site to finish your shopping duties. When you do, My Itchy Travel Feet receives a very small percentage of the sale which helps to keep our blog in business so thank you in advance for shopping with us.

And don’t forget about Passports With Purpose, where we’re raising $50,000 to build a village in India. There’s still time to donate and enter the drawing for some really fab prizes plus you’ll be doing a good deed. All it takes is $10. Thanks to Four Seasons Resort Scottsdale at Troon North, My Itchy Travel Feet is offering a two-night stay in one of the Four Season’s luxurious casita guest room accommodations, prize valued at $1,050.00. Alan and I can’t think of a better way to introduce you to the beauties of the Sonoran Desert in our home state of Arizona. Visit the Donate page to get started.

What’s going on at the My Itchy Travel Feet page on Facebook in December? We’re still posting photos of our Northern Italian road trip (yes, it’s easy to get behind in the blogging world). And hundreds of holiday travel deals arrive in our email box on a daily basis that we’ll be sharing with you. Don’t forget to click the Like button when you visit us.

And, finally, did you see Alan’s first post for My Itchy Travel Feet about his Ferrari test drive in Maranello, Italy? If you enjoyed reading it, leave a comment. I’m trying to lure him out from behind the camera to give us a male perspective on baby boomer travel.

That’s it for December. Be sure to subscribe to our feed so that you don’t miss a single bit of baby boomer travel news.
