Saturday’s scene: Paradise in the Moorea lagoon

A boat floats in the Moorea lagoon.

Alan and I have cruised through the islands of Tahiti on two occasions. Each time, we were mesmerized by the deep blue colors, abundant sea life and soothing tropical water that is the Moorea lagoon. This photo is from our first trip when we were on a cruise excursion to swim with the stingrays. It was our first experience sailing in the South Pacific and we absolutely, positively fell in love with long cruises that include lots of sea days interspersed with visits to small, tropical islands.

Exploring the lagoon is not the only activity on offer in Moorea. Enjoy a drive to the Belvedere Lookout, join a four-wheel-drive exploration of the island, sign up for parasailing,  go dolphin watching or even shop for pearls. So far, on both of our visits, Alan and I have opted for a water excursion that involves snorkeling and stingrays. While we know that we should broaden our experiences in Moorea, the call of that blue, blue water is too strong. Or maybe we just enjoy recreating our first experience in a beautiful paradise.
