Hiking is a wonderful way to see the best of Alaska’s incredible scenery. Check out Alan and Donna’s time hiking through Kodiak Island while on a cruise excursion.

From Donna:

Hi boomer travelers. Guess what? Alan took me on a vacation that he planned entirely on his own. I’m now one rested and relaxed boomer travel writer.

Leaving from Reedsport on the Oregon coast, we drove most of the Umpqua River Scenic Byway, the Rogue-Umpqua Scenic Byway, and the Crater Lake Byway to Klamath Falls. The next day, the road trip continued on Highway 395 through some incredibly isolated—and beautiful—parts of far northern California, eventually ending at our destination—Reno, NV.

As a surprise, Alan booked a Tuscany suite at Peppermill Resort Reno. We had a great time enjoying delicious food, live entertainment and simply hanging out together. Oh, there were a couple of spa treatments included in this vacation treat, too.

This boomer adventure is definitely worth repeating!
