News for the Week

From Donna:

Our region of Montana has experienced above normal rainfall. If you’re traveling to Glacier National Park soon, pack a raincoat! Curious about the status of Going to the Sun Road? Check snow plowing progress here. It’s still going to be awhile before the road opens to vehicular traffic. In the meantime, marvel at 2017 photos of the plowing at the Glacier National Park Flickr account.

No hike to report for this week due to all that rain. The wildflowers are sure going to pretty when Alan and I finally hit the trail again.

And about my healthy eating plan that I introduced to you last week: I’m following the advice in Always Hungry? by Dr. David Ludwig, which includes 3 phases. I’ve been testing Phase 1 (not totally following all the rules until after my birthday) but will officially start this Wednesday. Even so, I’ve lost an inch on my hips and 1% body fat but no movement downward on the scale yet. How do I feel? Energized! Alan raved about the bacon wrapped stuffed chicken that I made from the Wheat Belly blog. Adding good fat back into my diet has been the key. Thanks for letting me stay accountable by reporting my progress here. If you have questions, send me an email.

From Nicole:

Well, summertime is here and that means I’ll be taking some time off here and there. Yes, it’s officially too hot to work here in Madrid. Well, that and my family is coming to visit. They’ve been here a few times, so we’ll be blowing off the capital to head up north to explore the Cantabrian coast. Have you been? It’s a beautiful area of Spain that many tourists don’t get to if they’re short on time. Hopefully, I’ll be back with some nice photos!
