News for the Week

Happy 4th of July from My Itchy Travel Feet

Happy 4th of July (a little early), ya’ll. And to our friends up north Happy Canada Day!

From Donna:

Do you have plans for the 4th of July weekend? Alan and I usually stay close to home on this busy holiday. But we’re hoping to hike one day (missed our hike this week because of potential rainy weather. Yes, we’re wimps). And we’re also planning to take the ATV to the Big Hole Valley for some exploring. You’ll find us on the back deck on the 4th watching fireworks (they’re legal in Montana). But after Alan’s reaction to bug bites this week, we’ll definitely be using insect repellent

Always Hungry update: So I’ve completed the first week of Phase 1, which eliminates sugar, wheat and processed foods but increases good fats. The movement on the scale? Negligible. But I noticed a slight decrease in waist measurement (that’s called a NSV—non scale victory). In fact, I feel a slight melting away of all my mid-body fat. There are two tops in my closet that are too tight. So each week, I’m trying them on to see if they indicate any progress. And, yes, one of them fits slightly better. However it’s the increased energy that I feel that’s making the biggest difference in my life.

If you’re thinking that adding fat back is detrimental to our health, think again. The Epoch Times recently published In Defense of Fat an easy-to-read and understand article by journalist, Justina Reichel. I encourage you to read it. And thanks for letting me stay accountable by reporting my progress here. If you have questions, send me an email.

From Nicole:

Nicole is still vacationing. Can’ wait to see her photos of northern Spain.
