I’m declaring August, “The month everyone looked up.” First off, this weekend is the peak viewing time for the Perseides meteor shower. Planning on hosting friends for a party? Space.com shows you where and when to look. And then there’s the hoopla over the solar eclipse, which is August 21, 2017. Don’t expect to find a room in the 100% viewing area. Did you know that NASA has an entire page dedicated to the 2017 solar eclipse? And if you’re planning on looking at the eclipse, protect your eyes with special glasses.
It’s still smoky in Montana so there’s no hiking report for this week.
Always Hungry update: This week’s NSV (non scale victory), I see light between my thighs! That’s right they don’t rub together anymore. And I also discovered that almond butter stirred into a bowl of full fat Greek yogurt and blueberries makes a yummy and satisfying breakfast. Are you having a hard time cutting back on carbs? This NY Times article shares why. Thanks for letting me stay accountable by reporting my progress here. If you have questions, send me an email.
This week’s guest post on visiting Scotland’s Orkney Islands really piqued my interest. I visited Scotland with my family years ago, but it was on an organized tour trip and we didn’t have much time to dig into beautiful Edinburgh, much less anywhere else. So, yeah, this post has inspired me to start planning my own Scottish road trip next year!
