The Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests

The Hall of Prayer For Good Harvests. You’ll see it on a visit to the Temple of Heaven in Beijing, China.

From Donna:

How did your week go? I’m working on three articles that boomer travelers are going to love. Sorry, I can’t divulge the topics, just yet. The first one should be published next week, so don’t miss it.

Be sure to keep reading to the More Travel News for Boomers section for a couple of important travel topics. Speaking of which, did you know that the San Francisco Airport has banned plastic water bottles? What about the other drink products served in plastic bottles? So far, they get a pass. Now that’s a head scratcher.

Guess it’s time to invest in a water bottle for travel. I’m considering The LifeStraw Go Water Bottle because the straw is a two-stage filtration system. Sorry, San Francisco Airport, but I don’t trust the municipal water provided at your fountains. Seriously, this is a water bottle that would come in handy while hiking or just about anywhere.

That time Alan and I went to Alaska to see bears and watched a wolf catch a fish, instead.

You might have read that Venice is banning cruise ships. But it’s not quite true. The Points Guy has a good explanation of what’s really happening with cruise ships in Venice. My two cents: they’ll ban the huge ships but small ships will probably be allowed in the Venice lagoon.

Do you have an upcoming trip planned that involves arriving or departing from Hong Kong? The current protests in the airport are worrisome for travelers. CNN Travel offers good tips on what to expect. My two cents: if traveling to Hong Kong makes you uneasy, cancelling your insured trip may not be covered, unless you purchased a “cancel for any reason” policy.
