News for the Week

Visit the Yukon Territory on this Alaska Highway road trip itinerary.

Miles Canyon in White Horse, Yukon Territory on our Alaska Highway Road Trip.

From Donna:

Spontaneity and flexibility are two words that Alan and I are emphasizing as we go through fall. We checked off “spontaneity” this week by traveling on a last-minute getaway to Montana’s Flathead Lake. I can’t wait to write more about Coyote Bluff Estate. Until then, check out their website. Have you ever seen kittens stalk a deer? They were so cute!

Now for flexibility. The weather just won’t cooperate with our upcoming plans to drive the Beartooth Highway. The road has already been closed three times in the last two weeks because of snow. And more is expected next week. Since we’ve already paid for lodging on the front and back end of this trip, Alan and I will veer east during the middle portion to explore Bighorn Canyon National Recreation Area on the border of Wyoming and Montana. We also hope to see the wild mustang herd in the Pryor Mountains. Want to keep up with us? We’ll be posting photos at the My Itchy Travel Feet page on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter as Internet availability allows.

From Nicole:

September and October are my favorite months to travel. Once the hot summer months are over, I love to start planning some fall trips. I’m happy to say my first fall adventure will be a weekend in one of my favorite Spanish towns, Seville. It’s been almost ten years since my last visit so I’m excited to see what has changed. The capital of southern Spain’s Andalusia region, the city is known for its flamenco and overall love of a good fiesta. I’m especially interested in seeing the city’s newest landmark, the somewhat controversial, Metropol Parasol or “Setas de Sevilla”.
