Do you enjoy experiencing a destination during off-season? Alan and I are spending a week or so on the Oregon coast doing just that. Yes, it’s rainy, misty and nippy some of the time. But the beach is almost empty, there are no crowds, or traffic congestion. And it’s fun getting to know a place—Newport on this visit—at a slower pace. So far, we’ve discovered two great breakfast restaurants: Georgie’s Beachside Grill and Fishtails Cafe.
This weekend, we’ll be attending the musical, The Addams Family, at the Newport Performing Arts Center. And then there’s the Christmas boat parade. Alan’s looking forward to photographing the wave action during next week’s “king tide.” See, what I mean about experiencing a destination in the off-season?
