In Bangkok’s Grand Palace, Buddha sits on a golden throne surrounded by semi-precious jewels that glitter in the afternoon sun. Alan and I discovered this grand scene on an overnight cruise excursion to Bangkok, Thailand while on a 52-day cruise from Seward to Singapore on Regent Seven Seas Mariner. Boomer tip: be prepared for humidity! We were soaked with perspiration after touring the elaborate buildings, but the experience was worth it.

What a fantastic place the Grand Palace is. Great capture of the glittering jewelled walls.
The longer I look at the photo, the more peaceful my mind is going to be. That's the magic of god around us. Great capture!
I wonder how many people look at this sculpture and don't realize that the back of the throne symbolizes a snake?

You are so right, Barbara. Of course it's easy to be distracted by all the glitter and gold.
Not trying to be ugly, but just so you know, that is not a goddess. That is the Buddha. He was a man.

Thanks, Billie. Education is a good thing. I'll change that right now.
