Hikers motor across Alaska’s Thomas Bay to begin one of the advanced hikes offered by the adventure cruise line, InnerSea Discoveries. Later, Alan and I boarded a skiff for a more moderate baby boomer hiking choice.

Stunning photograph guys! Alaska is on our bucket list BIG TIME!
We need to hook up for dinner some time.
Tucson is also on our hit list, but it doesn’t seem to be anytime soon.
Do you ever make it up to Scottsdale/Phoenix?

Hi Dave,
You should move Alaska up higher on that bucket list. It’s a
photographer’s paradise.
Actually, this is our second time cruising Alaska. Last year, we did
it by luxury cruise line. This year’s experience was more of an
adventure cruise.
Yes, on meeting for dinner sometime. Unfortunately, we don’t have any
plans for traveling to Scottsdale/Phoenix but will keep you in mind
when we do.
You know, there are lots of luxury resorts in Tucson for you to check
. Aren’t we supposed to be retired?
out. Let us know if you get down our way. You know, it’s pretty bad
when four boomers are traveling so much that we can’t fit in time to
meet
Such a beautiful shot (and you might have had the right idea about avoiding the “advanced” hike.) My body is still aching…
Donna,
Good advice on the bucket list. Part of me would rather fly to Alaska and then drive around. I’m pretty certain that once there we can book tickets on boats to get us out in the ocean.
We absolutely intend to roam to Tucson one of these days. We are aware of many outstanding properties your way, and these boomers clearly need to roam in that direction.
Alaska is definitely on my bucket list. I was hoping to go next year and take my daughter for graduation, but now she wants to go to the Caribbean. i told her you can do that anytime.
What an absolutely gorgeous shot! But you mean to say you didn’t tackle the advanced hike????

Ha! I know my limits – crucial to a baby boomer’s success during
.
adventure travel. After I heard the 30-somethings describe slipping
and falling on the upper part of the trail, I knew that I had made the
right decision. It’s not a fun adventure unless you live to tell about
it

What – what a scene…seems surreal.
Enjoyed your articles. We’re traveling on Wilderness Discoverer in 2012. It will be our second trip to Alaska. It is truly a place that has to be experienced.
