Going scuba diving or skiing? Don’t forget the HeatWraps

Are you an active boomer traveler who enjoys warm weather activities like scuba diving or snorkeling in a tropical island setting? Alan and I count snorkeling excursions in Fiji and Bora Bora as two of our top boomer travel experiences. But, then again, we like cold weather fun too. I’ll never forget our first snowshoeing experience at Hidden Meadow Ranch in the White Mountains of Arizona.

One thing to remember about trying new activities like scuba diving or skiing, you’re not going to know how your back will react to that new activity until the day is done. Nothing is worse than to be on a vacation with a sore back and no way to alleviate the pain. That’s why I recommend packing ThermaCare HeatWraps in your carryon. They provide up to 16 hours of pain relief. I don’t travel on an active vacation without them.

I love to snorkel and it does use different muscles, particularly when you are in shallow water and trying not to touch the coral.

Skiing is not my forte – so I guess that answers the question!

We went ziplining last week and both of us did fine with that. Me and indoor skydiving? Not so much. My husband went through with it, but my back was aching just trying to stand on the soft surface waiting my turn. I backed out.

I’m all for discovering new activities. I recently tried both ziplining and indoor skydiving. I loved both. But yes, at the end of the day my back does ache!

Just in time! I love to both snorkel and ski, though with winter approaching my mind is getting in gear for those gorgeous cross-country ski outings.
