Luxury plus adventure is my favorite travel combination. And the folks at Visit Maui have invited me to experience just that. I’m calling it Maui the Boomer Way. Look at what I’ll be doing for six days on this beautiful Hawaiian island:
- For adventure, I’ll be paragliding wit Proflyght Paragliding, snorkeling (more than once) and learning stand up paddling. Traditional experiences include touring the Ali’i Kula Lavender Farm, Maui Pineapple Tour, visiting the Maui Ocean Center, a sunset sail on Ali’i Nui Sailing Catamaran plus snorkeling from a traditional Hawaiian Sailing canoe. And there’s also the possibility of a helicopter tour.
- One of the most interesting activities that I’ll be experiencing is volunteering with the Malama Honokowai Valley Volunteer Project to hep restore the land of the Honokowai Valley as an educational resource on traditional Hawaiian history and culture. My Lomi Lomi massage treatment at Spa Montage will definitely be appreciated after all that hard work.
- When it comes to luxury, I’ll be staying in luxury accommodations at Montage Kapalua Bay and Waialea Beach Villas. And of course dining will be a big part of this trip with meals planned at Old Lahaina Lua’au, Cane and Canoe Restaurant at Montage Kapalua Bay, Ko at Fairmont Kea Lani and much more.
Of course I’ll be writing articles about my experiences over the coming weeks. For real time reporting on my Maui the Boomer Way adventures, look for photos and updates on the My Itchy Travel Feet page on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. You’ll also find visual inspiration on my Pinterest board: Maui the Boomer Way. I’ll be using the hastags #seemaui and #mauitheboomerway.
Disclosure: The Maui Visitor and Convention Bureau is providing this travel experience. As usual, the opinions are strictly my own.
