Visiting the South Pacific on a cruise is one of our favorite boomer travel experiences. We’ve sailed through this area twice, once going from LA to Sydney — and on to Hong Kong— on the Regent Seven Seas Voyager. The next time we took the itinerary in reverse as the Mariner sailed from Auckland to L.A. So many adventures wait for active boomers in the South Pacific — swimming with stingrays in Moorea and Bora Bora (can you tell it’s a favorite?), exploring Raitea in a 4X4 and discovering the off-the-beaten-path Nuka Hiva.
In February 2012, Alan and I will be cruising the South Pacific again. We just can’t seem to stay away. This time, we’ll be on-board the Seabourn Odyssey from Sydney to LA exploring new-to-us ports like Noumea, New Caledonia; Ile des Pins, New Caledonia; Port Vila, Vanuatu; Lautoka, Fiji; Pago Pago, American Samoa and more.
