Grand View Overlook

Alan and I traveled to Grand View Overlook in the Islands in the Sky section of Canyonlands National Park on a cloudy afternoon. The sun popped out just in time to reward us with a golden sunset. Before setting up for this shot, we walked the paved trail around the overlook.

Boomer travel photography tip: Bring a tripod for the best chance at capturing sunset and sunrise photos.

Love this photo. I tend to think of the USA only in the context of the major cities – New York, LA etc and forget it's got amazing landscapes too.
