Saturday’s scene: exploring Canada’s Icefields Parkway

Updated 08.11.2017

Boomer travel - Canada - drive the Icefields Parkway for a scenic boomer road trip in the Northern Rockies of Canada. What a fun vacation in the Northern Rockies.

The Icefields Parkway is one grand Canadian road trip

Driving Canada’s Icefields Parkway provides one grand view after another. Alan and I dug into our photo archives for today’s Saturday’s scene. It reminds us of one of our favorite boomer road trips, even though we were on a bus. After driving on our own whirlwind Western National Park tour, Alan and I headed to Calgary from Glacier National Park. There, we joined a Tauck Tour so that someone else could do the driving and Alan could sit back and enjoy the view. From Lake Louise to Jasper Park Lodge to Banff, we¬†luxuriated in¬†the jewels of Canadian Rockies lodging. Plus, we experienced the touristy, but fun, ride up Athabasca Glacier on a Brewster Ice Explorer. Along the way, we took notes for a return trip. Next time, we hope to see the mountain goats at Goat Lick, take a boat ride to Spirit Island on Maligne Lake and dip our itchy travel feet in the soothing waters of Miette Hot Springs.
