Baltic Road Trip Itinerary

This Baltic road trip introduced me to castles, palaces and the cultural life of Northern European cities that you probably haven’t considered visiting. Check out my active boomer adventures to see if Poland and Northern Germany should be on your boomer travel list.

October 2, 3: Gdansk, Poland, where I stayed at the Radisson Blu Gdansk.

October 3: After sightseeing in Stettin and Szczecin, Poland, our group spent the night at Hotel Podewils Castle in Krag.

October 4: I explored more of Szczecin including the Pomeranian Dukes Castle before calling it a night at Hotel Focus Szczecin.

October 5: The journey took us to Schwerin, Germany with a stay at the Niederländischer Hof.

October 6: After touring more of Schwerin, we finally made it to Berlin just in time for a gala dinner at Great Orangery at Charlottenburg Castle and a classical concert in Berlin’s  beautiful  Prussian Court. Radisson Blu Berlin was headquarters for the next two days.

October 7: A visit to Asisi’s “The Wall” installation commemorating The Berlin Wall was a highlight. And, a Gastor Rallye, an exclusive tour including  three  courses at three of Berlin’s  most  trendy and exquisite restaurants capped off the end of an exciting week.

All too soon, it was time for the flight back to Montana. Next time, I’m brining Alan!

Walking tours are an excellent way to see any city and my tour of the beautiful city of Schwerin really showed me the best of this German town. Read more about my experience by clicking on Schwerin Walking Tour.

The Wall

Berlin’s history is immense and as I explored the city, the few remaining sections of the famous wall were certainly one of the city’s strongest connections to its turbulent past. Read more by clicking on The Wall to read about my experience.

Culture in Berlin

While some may believe Berlin to be one of the most modern and avant garde cities in Europe, it’s culture runs incredibly deep in terms of history, art and music. Read more about my musical experience by clicking on Culture in Berlin.
