If you’ve been reading My Itchy Travel Feet for very long, then you know that Alan and I are big fans of small ship luxury cruises. Did you know that we’ve never sailed on a ship with over 700 passengers? But that’s about to change. When Princess Cruises invited us to sail on the newly christened Royal Princess, I volunteered for the travel experience to see if that bias toward small ships is a fair one. Where is Alan while I’m cruising in the Mediterranean? He’ll be at home in Montana preparing for our upcoming Alaska/British Columbia/Yukon road trip coming up in mid-August.
On Monday (July 29, 2013), I’ll be boarding the brand-new Royal Princess Cruise in Venice, Italy. For the next six days, I’ll be exploring the ship’s many features including the top deck pool that boasts a nightly water and light show as well as Movies Under the Stars. And I’m intrigued by the Sea Walk—a glass-bottomed walkway that juts out from the ship’s top deck providing a view into the sea located 128 feet below.

Ports will include Venice, Athens, Kusadasi (Ephesus) and Istanbul. Rather than exploring independently, I’ll be participating in organized tours arranged by Princess so that you’ll know what to expect on your Princess Cruise.
And of course there will be onboard experiences to tell you about like the new-to-Princess Deluxe Balcony suite accommodations, dining options and my Lotus Spa treatment (I can’t wait for that one!).
To keep up with my adventures cruising on Royal Princess, look for the hashtag #RoyalPrincess on all of My Itchy Travel Feet’s social media channels. We’re hosting a Cruising on Royal Princess Pinterest Board plus I’ll be posting photos and updates at the My Itchy Travel Feet pages on Facebook and Google+ plus Twitter and Instagram.
