Hipmunk is sponsoring this look at four fun USA vacation spots.

The USA is absolutely filled with wonderful travel destinations for all types of travelers. Of course, the autumn months, with its crisp air and beautiful colors, makes everything more enjoyable. If you’re in the mood for a fun, fall weekend escape, take a look at these four USA vacation spots.

Four USA Vacation Spots

You’ve been to all the typical vacation spots: Disneyland, the Mall of America, Washington D.C., and a few national parks. Now it’s time to head to some popular vacation spots that are unexpectedly awesome for all travelers. With water activities, interactive museums, and lots of learning opportunities, these cities offer a chance to get out of those old vacation ruts.

Seattle, Washington

Seattle is a little rainy most of the time, but it’s filled with plenty of fun activities nonetheless. From the Space Needle to Pike Place Market, your trip to Seattle will be filled from morning until night. You might especially love the Museum of Pop Culture and Woodland Park Zoo. Make sure to stop at Kerry Park to get a photograph of the skyline, too. Most first-time visitors choose hotels in downtown Seattle to be near all the sights. Try the Quality Inn and Suites Hotel Seattle Center if you’re on a budget, or splurge on Hotel Deca.

Savannah, Georgia

As one of the south’s historic staples, Savannah is a walkable and gorgeous city everyone needs to visit at least once. You’ll love the walking tours explaining Savannah’s history, festivals and markets down at the Riverwalk, and the beautiful green space that is Forsyth Park. For the most walkable experience, look for hotels in downtown Savannah like Best Western Savannah Historic District. They’re a little more expensive than the others, but deals are available and you’ll be near everything you want to see. Plus, downtown is filled with good restaurants and fun shopping opportunities.

Clearwater Beach, Florida

Visit the Gulf of Mexico to experience wonderfully warm water, beautiful white sand, and gorgeous sunsets over the ocean. Clearwater Beach has some of the most beautiful beaches in the United States, and if you don’t believe that statement you clearly haven’t been there, yet. While many Clearwater hotels are on the beach, the downtown area is an equally fun spot to visit and to stay. You can visit the Clearwater Aquarium, made famous because of the movie Dolphin Tales, and stay nearby at Sea Captain Resort on the Bay. Remember that Florida’s peak season is winter, so visit in summer.

Orlando, Florida

Okay, so Orlando isn’t exactly an unexpected vacation spot, thanks to Universal Studios and Disney World. But Orlando has much more to offer than those two mega theme parks. For instance, many of Orlando’s best hotels like the Hilton Orlando have waterparks attached to them. You can take a weekend vacation to Orlando and never leave your hotel because everything you need for fun is right there. That being said, getting a day pass to Universal is never a bad idea; Harry Potter is definitely worth experiencing!

Are you itching to hop in the car or get on a plane? Each of these destinations has different high and low seasons, so you can hit all four during the same year if you choose! Plan a few activities, book your hotel in advance, and leave some time open for exploring.
