Baby boomer photographers will have their pick of elephant seal models on the beach at the Piedras Blancas elephant seal colony near San Simeon, California. I captured this sleepy fellow while on last spring’s California coastal sports car road trip. Are you planning to travel on Highway 1 on the Big Sur coast this summer? You’re in luck. The road has just reopened after damage from winter mud slides. Be sure to stay the night at Ragged Point Inn, or at least stop by for a meal. What’s your favorite overlook or stopping place on Highway 1? Post a comment to share with us. We’ll be planning another baby boomer road trip to Big Sur, that’s for sure.

Thanks!. He did seem content. Although the seals move every so often, flipping sand on themselves before getting comfortable again.
He looks so peaceful on his sleep.. it’s a good thing that he was not disturbed on his daydreaming..Thanks for the post!
