Taking a luxury cruise is a great way to leave your worries behind as you turn off that pesky computer and ship off to any number of fascinating destinations. Plan your cruise with an app
Skyscanner is our preferred tool for researching flights to find the most convenient flights with the best prices. After choosing the flight that’s right for us, we go to the airline website to see if their price matches the one we found on Skyscanner. Be sure to download the Skyscanner free app before planning your next cruise. Available for purchase at the App Store and Google Play.
Packing Pro takes the stress out of packing. If you’re about to embark on a cruise, use Pack the Bag Pro to ensure that you have everything you need while on board without overstuffing your suitcase. Available for purchase at the App Store.
Cruise Ship Mate is often hailed as the number one app for cruisers and for good reason. Cruise Ship Mate has all you’ll need to plan an amazing time on-board and off. Enjoy shipboard life with these apps
SicNoMore addresses an all too common problem on cruises: sea sickness. It’s actually a lot less common than one would think, until one gets sea sick and then, it’s the pits. According to SicNoMore, the app provides “a visual guide to movements by providing a virtual horizon. This allows your brain to synchronize both information from your eyes and from your inner ear.” Available for purchase at the App Store.
White Noise Free: sounds for sleep and relaxation app is a great way to get some much-needed sleep while travel and it’s especially helpful on cruises. Depending on the cruise ship, passengers may or may not have the most comfortable beds, which makes sleeping peacefully difficult. Some people also swear by white noise when experiencing seasickness. Available for purchase at the App Store and Google Play.
Cruise Card Control is one very useful app for monitoring spending while on a cruise. With all the little charges that add up here and there, who hasn’t had a bit of a shock moment when they pay that final bill? With Cruise Card Control you can create expense categories, double check bills for accuracy and cost compare with past cruises. Available for purchase at the App Store.

MyFitnessPal app is a helpful resource for anyone who’d like to make healthy choices while cruising. Although a summer cruise is the perfect time to relax and enjoy the exquisite food available, it’s always a good idea to show some restraint and of course, move that body! My Fitness Pal lets you count calories while keeping track of your physical exercise rate so that you’re not left feeling guilty at the end of a great vaca. So, let’s not say its a weight loss app, but a total, all-in-one health-focused tool. Available for purchase at the App Store and Google Play.
Cruise Tycoon app isn’t really a useful app, per se, but it certainly is fun! If you’ve ever thought of running your own cruise company, Cruise Tycoon lets you start your own cruise line, creating new cruise routes and set up sailing schedules. It’s a great way to see the business side of cruising while actually cruising. Available for purchase at the App Store and Google Play.
Star Walk app is for those stargazers out there. What better way to end a night of dining and dancing than staring up at the star-lit sky over the open sea? Star Walk is an augmented-reality app that allows users to see stars, satellites and constellations in real time just by tilting your device toward the sky. It will also list the names of the stars and constellations just by tapping the screen. You can also take a screen shot of the sky and post it to your social media accounts. Available for purchase at the App Store and Google Play.
Use these cruise apps while in port
Converter Plus is especially useful on cruises with different ports. Unlike trips where you tend to get a hold on the local currency after the first few days, if you’re stopping at multiple ports with different currencies, Converter Plus lets you shop with confidence that you’re not blowing away next month’s mortgage by accident! Available for purchase at the App Store. OR USE THIS ONE: XE Currency Pro app takes the hassle out of money conversion. If you’re on a tight cruise excursion schedule, the last thing you want to be doing is wasting time trying to convert money while shopping. Available for purchase at the App Store and Google Play.
